Postmaster Email Address

Configure the postmaster email address to specify which mailbox receives messages that POPcon cannot deliver to a valid recipient. When POPcon processes a message and no matching recipient exists on the internal mail server, the message is forwarded to the postmaster address instead of being discarded.

Important: The postmaster address does not receive all emails addressed to unknown users. Emails addressed to unknown recipients within a specific POP3/IMAP account are handled by that account’s own “Re-route mail” setting. The postmaster address is only used as a final fallback when no other routing rule applies.

Log File Configuration

POPcon maintains a log of all mail retrieval activity, errors, and processing events. Two logging modes are available:

• Single log file with size limit — POPcon writes all log entries to a single file. When the file reaches the configured maximum size, it is truncated or rotated to prevent unbounded disk usage. This mode is suitable for environments where a simple, compact log is sufficient.
• Daily log files — POPcon creates a new log file for each day, using the date as part of the filename. This mode simplifies log review and archival, as each file covers exactly one day of activity. Old daily log files can be deleted or archived independently.
